This body of work is dedicated to Destiny’s grandmother, to women, and to the layered, often unspoken complexities of womanhood. Through her paintings, Destiny explores the ways strength, tenderness, and resilience intertwine across generations—how stories, wisdom, and wounds are carried, reshaped, and ultimately transformed. Her use of rich color and shadow evokes both reverence and release, a visual language that honors the women who came before her while embracing the continual act of becoming. Each piece stands as a testament to feminine endurance, love, and the sacred power of creation. A celebration of women in all their beauty, complexity, and grace.

Destiny’s latest body of work is a powerful meditation on loss, healing, and transformation. Created in the wake of a long-term relationship that unraveled under the weight of the Covid-19 pandemic, an event that deeply impacted Black and Latino communities—her paintings confront both personal and collective trauma. Through the use of black, which she calls her “shadow work,” Destiny explores the generational pain carried by African American women—trauma “passed through wombs,” as expressed in her piece TRAUMA. In striking contrast, her use of bold, vibrant color signals resilience and renewal, reflecting the possibility of turning pain into beauty through spiritual practice, as seen in SEKHMET, AFTERMATH, and BECOMING. Infused with rhythm and movement inspired by the dance traditions of the African diaspora, Destiny’s work becomes both a visual and spiritual act of becoming—transforming sorrow into light, and survival into art.
